The first arc would be a retelling of the games (sonic 1 to sonic unleashed).

I always thought a cool idea would be a anime styled show structured with arcs. This would never get to the point where Sonic himself feels worthless but the franchise in general just can't seem to go five minutes without throwing him into any context even when the story would benefit more without him always being around. He can afford to miss an episode here and there, if it means giving the equally interesting characters around him times to shine perhaps even with small arcs of their very own like Archie's Sonic Universe line, which I honestly preferred much more over the mainline comics. The IDW comics do the same thing but just with a more grounded scope compared to X's Metarex saga either or makes for a good reference point conceptually, but one thing that I think a new Sonic show (or Sonic anything, period) should do is not spend every waking minute on Sonic. Let in fall into sort of "ambiguous canon" territory where all the while, you could look at what you're watching and say "yeah, I could see the games doing stuff like this", but its stories wouldn't directly influence the games either since that kind of multimedia incorporation doesn't need to exist in the Sonic franchise.īut yeah, X was my favorite show of the batch because of how it did just feel like an extension of the game cast and lore the only thing X seriously fell flat with was the overemphasis on human characters like Chris and his entourage, but that was really only a big problem in the first season still, no human-world-animal-world separation, we've got enough alternate dimensions in the game canon to worry about without that needless incorporation.

So make sure to also get the PC version if you have a PC.Honestly Sonic X isn't that far off from what I'd want out of a Sonic show.Ī cartoon (Western or anime, I don't think the difference matters too much) that's heavily based off of the game's world and characters partially adapting stories from the games (specifically ones that could seriously benefit from a revised revisit, like Shadow, '06 or Forces), and partially telling its own stories too. Please keep in mind that this online web port might be slightly than the PC version.
